Time sure flies and with a blink of an eye, the Holy month of Ramadan is here. The Chefs of Ixora Hotel Penang has whipped up an amazing array of tantalizing traditional Malay cuisine that would just please the palate.

I had the privileged to be at Ixora Hotel Penang not too long ago together with 25 children from the Rumah Kanak-kanak Taman Bakti who were invited by Ixora Hotel to be there to 'berbuka puasa'. This is their 7th year in doing so. It was part of the hotels corporate social responsibility program which brought smiles and happiness to the kids who were there. You could see how happy they were enjoying themselves.

Start off the meal with some light greens and topped it up with your favourite dressing or local sauce like sambal.

You will also spot some local favourites like pasembur and rojak too. All you got to do is pick you favourite ingredients and top it up with the rich sauce and voila, all ready to be enjoyed away.

The chicken Shawarma was just gorgeous. Stuffed in a nice fluffy pocket bread, one bite and you would be wanting more.

The yearly Kambing Panggang is a major hit among diners. Nicely seasoned and the meat was tender and juicy.

As usual, the bubur lambuk is never a miss during this Ramadan.

The Sup Ayam Berempah is packed with such nice flavours and aroma from the spices used. Once sip of the soup, and a bursting flavour explodes in your mouth.
