New Menu Selection at The View, Hotel Equatorial Penang.

Hotel Equatorial Penang has added a touch of modernity and creativity that welcomes you to a whole new elevated dining experience that The View. The View is no stranger when it comes to French fine cuisine that comes with a spectacular view while dining. It's getting the best of both worlds in one place.

I had the privilege to experience the launch of the The View's new menu selection which simply does wonders on the palates. It was first visit here and my first step into The View, the excitement was palpable.

The ambiance was beautiful. The whole set-up and the magnificent view that you get to enjoy while dining, there's just nothing not to love about this place.

The event was held in a private room within The View.

Mr. Andreas Knüssi, General Manager of Hotel Equatorial Penang extended his warmest welcome to all of us.

It was the moment we had been waiting for. Let the drooling begin :)

For the appetizer, we were served Seared Tuna with Green Lentils. Slices of seared tuna served with couscous and orange lemongrass reduction.

A bite into the fresh tuna with a nice tangy citrusy taste which was pleasantly stimulating.

Goose liver is a well-known delicacy when it comes to French cuisine.

French Goose Liver
Pan-fried, Melba toast, sautéed baby spinach, Madeira reduction, pear compote

The richness and smooth buttery liver together with the pear compote, brings a nice twist to the dish.

Bean Curd and Wild Mushroom Morrel Broth

One scoop of the broth and you will instantly fall in love with the rich and beautiful flavours in a bowl.

Hot from the grill, it was time to enjoy the Grilled Australian Grain Fed Beef Tenderloin served with Szechuan pepper, wild mushrooms, and polenta.

The beef was done perfectly nice. Juicy, flavourful, and the existence of the Szechuan flavour certainly gives it a nice kick of gentle spiciness. Something unique and delicious.

It was then time for my favourite item, desserts.

Low Fat Chocolate Tofu Cheese Cake served with Berry Coulis and Vanilla Ice Cream.

Now this is something which is so satisfyingly good that you'd be craving for more of it :)

Wines which we were served to compliment the meals.
