Weekend Roast at Farquhar's Bar, Eastern & Oriental Hotel Penang


Weekends are never going to be the same back at Farquhar's Bar at Eastern & Oriental Hotel Penang or fondly known to us as E&O Hotel. The sought after Sunday Roast is now available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. That makes it even more days for you to enjoy all the delicious carvings they have to offer. If you are a meat lover, you will definitely fall in love with the Weekend Roast.



Farquhar's Bar is set in a nice English-style bar giving you that nostalgic feeling. Unlike the modern bars, Farquhar's Bar gives you that sense and ambiance of what it was like in the good old days. Well after all, E&O Hotel is known for all its colonial preservation.




Now let's see what the Weekend Roast is all about. Shall we?

Starting of with a nice warm serving of soup of the day with various slices for you to enjoy with.





This sight is so welcoming isn't it? From roast side of beef, roast chicken breast stuffed with sage and onion stuffing, and slow-cooked lamb shoulder. A roast wouldn't be complete without the presence of Yorkshire pudding. It is said that the Yorkshire pudding is part of the traditional British Sunday Roast.



The roast chicken breast was something different, as first thought one would have thought it was just another ordinary chicken breast, all meaty but with the sage and onion stuffing, it certainly does give the chicken breast an enhanced flavour. 




Nothing could go wrong with these delicious carving of beef and slow-cooked lamb shoulder. Tender, juicy and flavourful on every bite with 3 types of sauce for you to enjoy away, Dijon Mustard, Horseradish Sauce and Mint Sauce. A piece of the meat and the sauce, certainly makes you wanting more of it. 





The Weekend Roast is like a mini buffet scale. You have the soup of the day, the main roast items as well as the side condiments, salad and dessert too.


Mushy peas, goose-fat roast potatoes, and seasonal vegetables completes a plate of delicious roast meal.




Wind down the meal with some nice sweet treats such as bread and butter puddings as well as some refreshing cuts of tropical fruits.





While you are there, don't miss out on ordering the Cocktail  and Mocktail of the month which will introduced in the month of December 2016. 


Shown above is the  Mocktail, Tropical Xmas which consist of Guava Juice, Lemon Juice, Sugar Syrup and Grenadine. 

While the Cocktail (below, left) , Santa's Sleigh is made from Otard Brandy, 15ml Amaretto, 1 scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream.
