BTB China House Penang


Talk about China House and everybody will relate it with this key words, Heavenly/Awesome/Superb/Delicious Cakes. Without doubt, China House is famous for its wide spread of delicious bakes that everybody just craves for it.




It has been a while since I was last there and I am extremely thrilled to be there once again to experience dining at BTB, a quiet dining section that serves modern western style dishes influenced by an eclectric mix of Asian and Middle Eastern Cuisines.

As you turn in from the main walkway, BTB is set in elegant yet cozy ambiance, making dining such pleasurable. 

Alright, so let's have a look at what BTB has in store for us.



Pumpkin and Apple Soup with Candied Pumpkin Seeds and Parmesan Biscotti  


Mezze Vegetarian 
 Pomegranate Dip, Harissa, Red Pepper Chutney, Fresh Green Relish, 
Corn & Parmesan Salsa, Eggplant Ginger Bud Sambal, Yoghurt, Dukkah, Lemon Rocket Salad, Served with Pita and Focaccia 


Grilled Haloumi on Avocado, Cashew Nut Salad with Grapes, Cranberries, Rocket and Pomegranate Dressing, Parmesan Biscotti 


Salt Egg Yolk Crispy Chicken Strips on a Watercress, Peanuts, Corn, Cherry Tomato, Green Mango, Coriander Salad with Spicy Peanut Dip 


Deep Fried Tiny Prawns on a Mango and Avocado Salad with Pistachio and Basil Dressing 


Hokkien Spaghetti Bolognese – with Minced Chicken served with Cucumber Ribbons, Eggplant, Ginger Bud Sambal and Caramelised Peanuts. 


Chicken and Mushroom Pie  with Baked Sweet Potato, Mash Potato, Broccoli and Tomato Relish. 


Seared Fillet of Beef (200 grams) with Parsnip Skordalia and Mushrooms, Roast Pumpkin and Duo of Sauces, Spicy Peanut Sauce and Balsamic Sauce 


Rack of Lamb with Dukkah Pumpkin, Eggplant, Chimichurri Pesto and Cauliflower Gratin on the Side


Asian Platter - Laos Chicken and Pumpkin Curry, Coconut Beef Rendang, Sweet Basil Mango Salad



Here are some of the beverages that we had. Some were interestingly unique. Gula Melaka Shake, Peanut Butter & Jelly Milkshake, Crushed Mint and Lime Soda, Ice Coffee Milo Dinasour, Strawberry, Banana & Orange Frappe and Latte.


Now for the moment, something nobody could possibly resist, cake time! Infact, when you enter the premise, the cakes will be the first thing that would probably catch your attention first as you enter. Looking at the cakes at the chiller already makes you craving and tempted to eat it badly, but wait til you see the cake counter with a whole load of cakes displayed on the table. Easily over 25 variations for you to choose from. So, good luck in choosing haha..

For that night we had the Salted Caramel Cheese, Carrot Walnut, Banana Mocha Frosting, Chocoholic Chocolate, Passionfruit Coconut Butter and Tiramisu. The Tiramisu and the Salted Caramel Cheese are among those sought after cakes back here.
