In this holy month of Ramadhan, be spoilt for choice when you break your fast at Sarkies, Eastern and Oriental Hotel Penang or fondly known as E&O Hotel. The buffet back here always amazes me with it's wide spread of food variety. Let's have a look at what kind of spread is being offered.
For starters, there's the refreshing green salads, various ulam and other kinds of items for you to begin with.
You will find 2 kinds of soup one being the a western style of soup while the other will be a asian soup.
If you love seafood, then you will be pampered with a decent variety of seafood items on the Seafood on Ice corner. You will find such as Prawns, Green Mussels, Alaska King Crab, Scallops and many others.
Apart from that, there is section where you will be able to find a few kind of sushis as well.
As for the carvery section, you will find such nicely grilled meat such as beef, lamb as well as roasted chicken.
Apart from that, on daily basis you will find Gratin Oyster of The Day as well as Baked Whole Fish.
For the hot section where it's all the main dishes is, the item changed day to day basis.
The list of food goes on, there is even an area where you can get your meat, seafood grilled. From salmons, beef, fish, prawn, squid, lamb chops, sauasages and many more.
You will even find a local fare of hawker food such as Char Koay Teow and even Hokkien Mee.
Now this is something you hardly see except for during Ramadhan which is the whole lamb roast. The whole lamb is roasted outside on the verandah area along with Satay, Gulai Kawah and other daily specialties.
I know there are heaps of food for you to enjoy, but do remember to make some space for the awesome desserts. Local kuihs and other kinds of desserts are made available for you to indulge. By just looking at it makes me want to try everything.
This is also my first to actually see a buffet that serves so many different types of drinks for you.
Lastly, end your meal with scoops of ice cream or icy treat such as ice kacang or a nice hot drink of Teh Tarik.
E&O Hotel has always served not only a wide variety of food but also those that will truly leave you satisfied with your meal. So don't forget to Buka Puasa or dine over dinner at Sarkies this Ramadhan .
