I was really thrilled when I got then chance to review Vistana Hotel Penang for the very first time. I have heard so much about the Ramadhan buffet which they had last year. One thing for certain which was, they had a lot of items on their buffet line. So this year upon arriving to the airport from Malacca, I went over with much excitement to see what awaits.
For this Ramadhan, Vistana Hotel presents a delicious spread of authentic traditional Malay spread for the breaking of the daily fast, or ‘buka puasa’ with their special Tok Wan 101 Recipes which taps into the taste memories of authentic Malay dishes inspired by Tok Wans everywhere. Tok wan is a colloquial Pahang state term for grandmother. Tok Wan 101 Recipes is available in Vistana Hotels in Kuala Lumpur, Kuantan and Penang.
From a distant, a canopy within the hotel compound could be seen, that is where the grilling takes place. And as you enter, you will be greeted by simply irresistible food.

With so many local favourite items already to enjoy, the list adds on with the every popular Asam Laksa. The fish soup has adequate sourness from the tamarind with lots of fish flakes.

Tok Wan also inspires a hearty sup daging with such delightful flavours and taste in a pot.
Sup Daging Periuk Besar
Now it seems like there has been a lot of food which I have shown and shared so far, BUT there's even more. Yes so much more food coming up.
For the main dishes, Tok Wan’s main course spread features the following

Whenever Ramadhan is here, the thing that makes me crave is especially the kuih-muihs. Back here at Vistana Hotel, you will be amazed with the wide selection of kuih-muihs that is being offered for you to indulge. I know for certain I was amazed and much impressed with the quantity and the types on the buffet line.
( Bubur Kacang, Bubur Pulut Hitam, Pengat Pisang) Aneka Cake Traditional
Aneka Agar-agar Traditional
Aneka Kuih Traditional
Sagu Gula Melaka Leng Chee Kang
Frankly, this is my first seeing a buffet line with 3 kinds of warm local sweet soup desserts.
How about some nice cool icy treat. This is the time of me being a lil kid again eating all those ice creams haha
Aneka Ais Krim
(Pilihan Ais Krim Vanilla, Coklat , Jagung, Keladi & Strawberry)
Ais Kacang Pelangi
(Krim Jagung,Kacang Merah, Buah Nau, Cincau, Sagu Mata Ikan, Susu Sejat,
Agar- agar, Sirap Gula Melaka, Sirap Ros,Coconut Milk)

Teh Tarik, Malaysians all time favourite drink. It may be as easy as it looks, but I am pretty sure you wouldn't want it splashing everywhere. Spotted was the superior showing the technique to the staff in charge of the teh tarik stall. The pull gives the drink with the froth the omphhhh.
Warung Minuman Panas
The Ramadhan-inspired buffet will be held in the ground floor Ballroom and the hotel is complete with ample parking spaces, making it convenient for large groups, and prayer rooms to further cater to its Muslim guests celebrating this blessed month.
To my opinion, with the options of variety, taste and flavours provided. It's an amazing buffet to break your fast/'buka puasa' and for dinner.
