International Buffet Dinner and Christmas at Sarkies, E&O Hotel Penang.

When it comes to buffet, Sarkies at Eastern & Oriental Hotel Penang is no stranger to a whole wide variety of food selection. Beginning from November 2014, Sarkies is now offering International Buffet Dinner. From appetizers right up to mouth-watering desserts, everything on the buffet line is simply irresistible.






The salad bar offers a great selection of fresh healthy greens. Grab some veges and have some dressing with it and voila, a nice salad is ready. 


Though it is known as International Buffet Dinner, seafood lovers will totally love the seafood spread being offered. A whole load of fresh seafood is made available for your indulgence. Choose from poached tiger prawns, New Zealand green mussels, Australian black mussels, poached king crab, Fresh oysters with salsa and yabbied. It's indeed a seafood paradise.


Not only that, there is also a variations of sushi as well as sashimi being offered such as assorted Sushi Maki, Handrolled Sushi, Salmon Sashimi, Tuna Sashimi, Talapia Sashimi.


 For something more heavy, there is also the buffet spread of hot cooking dishes for you to choose. Steamed rice, Chinese fried rice, beef masak kicap, deep fried sweet and sour fish, lamb, black mussels, lemon chicken, and even season vegetables with light soya sauce. Every dish tasting delicious.




It doesnt more peking-er than the E&O Hotel Peking Duck that Sarkies offer. With the sauce that goes with it, can I have more of it please :)


If you love pasta, there is also a pasta corner for u to enjoy penne, spaghetti or even coloured fusili served with chicken bolognese or with cream sauce.

Let's get grilling. For seafood you have fresh prawn, Japanese long fish, Saba fish (Atlantic mackerel), Half shelled scallops, Squid Rings, fresh salmon and while for meat you have chicken fillet, minute steak, lamb chop, beef /chicken satay, beef /chicken sausage, jumbo chicken sausage and tandoori sausage.


Now that is a whole load of food we have seen but wait there is even more to come. There is an Indian corner and a noodle station as well. Noodle station offers fried noodle. Choice of noodle seafood and vegetables ,Mongolian BBQ vegetables with Sze Chuan Sauce. While the Indian corner offers Lamb Tikka, Chicken Briyani, Aloo Gobi Matar, Moussaka, Indian bread, mango chutney, fruit pickle, raita and papadom.




Fresh fruits such as strawberries and grapes. 


Or how about some jelly with fresh fruits in it?


Perhaps, this will interest you more. Fresh fruits arrange into an art display.

Now to my favourite part of the buffet line, the simply irresistible desserts. Not only does it have such an appealing look but it taste really good too.






By just looking at all those heavenly desserts, it is so tempting. Each bite of those makes you craving for more.

With Christmas just around the corner, there is a wide selection of Christmas Goodies for sale to.
Chistmas cookies, mince mini pie, christmas pudding, gingerbread house, yule log cake and many more.


Looking at all those adorable yet amazing creations, don't you just wish you could sink you teeth into all of it. They are just amazing. Could i have all of those please :)






Oh yummy. Well apart from these, there is also the Salmon en Croute Set as shown too.

Echosmith - Cool Kids

I've heard of their song been frequently played on air but little did I know that Echosmith was made up of a group of talented young siblings from LA until I was introduced to them just recently. 4 talented siblings WOW! Where their lead vocalist is the only female in the group. That is something that we do not come across normally. Reminds me very much of The Corrs from my era haha 

 Their single "Cool Kids" from their album Talking Dreams has a really catchy tune that will just get stuck in your head. The tune is now even playing in my head as I type haha..

Base on the lyrics, it is about the cry of people who would like to fit in just to be noticed as well. Just like the cool kids.

Here's a phrase from the lyrics of the song.

Hard Rock Hotel Penang - Christmas Eve & New Year's Eve Dinner



The year end is almost here, time flies but it also means Christmas and New Year is just around the corner. YAY! For this year, why not dine like a rock star and savour a potpourri of delicious holiday treats this Christmas & New Year's Eve Dinner Celebration at Starz Diner, Hard Rock Hotel Penang.

Treat yourself and your loved ones to Christmas Eve Rock 'N' Roll Buffet Dinner at Starz Diner from 6.30pm to 10.30pm where the Executive Chef of the Hotel, Chef Zul will be serving a wide selection from the sushi bar, salad bar, platters, hot dishes, action station, carving station, desserts and more. All these heavenly food priced at RM 160.00 ++ per person.

While Chef Joe of Pizzeria's Kitchen Manager will prepare something special that is the Santa Turkey Pizza and Turkey Pasta Christmas Day.


And then comes New Year but before we bid goodbye to a fantastic year, celebrate New Year's Eve with a sumptuous New Year's Eve Buffet Dinner at Starz Diner. Delight in a wide variety of fresh oysters from the Shucked Oyster Bar, chilled seafood, appetizers, Asian corner, shawarma station and many more delicious food.

Hard Rock Café on the other hand will be serving a 4-course set dinner at RM 170.00++ per person on New Year's Eve featuring a starter, soup, a choice of main course and dessert.

Oh yes lets see the person behind the dishes, Chef Zul who is the Executive Chef of Hard Rock Hotel Penang. Chef Zul was appointed as the Executive Chef back in 1st August 2004. His role plays a big part as he is responsible for overseeing the hotel's dining venues, room service, catering and culinary events. Having been in the industry for 27 years, Chef Zul has extensive experiences working in 5 star hotels and resorts. In year 2004,  Chef Zul bagged The Best Western Chef Award in the 7th Gastronomique Penang.
